That's the way it's called in Belgium, that short, 60 km long coast, along the North sea. Hated and beloved at the same time by most. Because it's the sea, we love it. Because it's been awfully spoilt by savage constructions since the sixties, going from luxurious villas well hidden in the few remaining sand dunes, to ugly concrete apartment buildings of all sizes and styles, mostly a sore to the eye. The food is expensive and not too good, but if you turn your back to the houses, and look at the sea, and find those few empty spots, because children can play freely, because you see the sky, it has its charm, yes, it has.
